Morning Routine
Mastering Your Morning Routine!
It is important to have a morning routine, because the first hour will set the tone for the rest of the day. If you wake up cranky, rushed, groggy, not feeling good physically or mentally, it will be difficult to break your state moving forward.
So what's the perfect morning routine? I believe that will look slightly different for everyone. You want to make sure you are starting your morning off by making your mind and body feel good.
Mind
It is important to put yourself in the proper mindset before the start of everyday. This will allow you to be in the right state and also promote:
- Positivity
- Purpose
- Drive
- Excitement
- Focus
Body
Moving your body in the morning is very important as you were still for hours at night and can be stiff upon waking. During the night, our bodies are using energy to clean and detoxify. One of the ways we cleanse debris is by using our lymphatic system, which removes waste, toxins, pathogens, etc. However, this drainage system travels upwards and depends on muscle and joint movements to filter through the body1.
Some of the benefits of movement in the morning is:
- Helps Cleanse
- Increases Energy
- Promotes Flexibility and Functionality
Not only will you get these benefits, but you will also practice mental, emotional and physical discipline. You may also have to go to bed slightly earlier to wake up a few minutes before your usual time. Similarly, you are training yourself to create the habit of waking up in a positive and energized state, ready to tackle your day.
